Sure, it’s a bit of a cliché, but hey, sometimes the classics are classic for a reason. Even though Paris was wrapped in grey, we couldn’t help but feel a touch of vie en rose as we showcased our Transmixr branding at the top of Agence French Press (AFP). That’s right, the Transmixr team took over Paris for our sixth General Assembly, held on 5-6 February, thanks to our awesome partners at AFP.
We are in the last year of our project (which, to be honest, feels a little daunting – time flies), but the excitement we’re feeling is undeniable. Every time we get the chance to showcase the progress we’ve made, especially over the past six months, it’s hard not to be energised by how far we’ve come. And believe us, there’s been a lot of progress—real, tangible developments that we can’t wait to share. It’s been a whirlwind, but every step forward brings us that much closer to our goal – make the media experience of the future focus on cross-border collaboration between media organisations and inclusion of citizens as co-creators, mediated through social XR experiences that guarantee diverse and inclusive participation.
From updates on use-case pilots and brainstorming sessions on exploitation strategies to our communication and dissemination efforts, including events, training programmes, and workshops, we’ve made progress in identifying ideas to move forward. But, we admit, our favourite part might just be the showcase session, where we get to play and try with all our developments. Even though we really do love sharing ideas with each other, there’s something about trying out our own work that just takes the cake (or, in this case, a macaroon. Because Paris, right?)
We also had the opportunity to visit the AFP’s facilities getting a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like to be right in the heart of the action, where major news stories come to life. Afterwards, we enjoyed a delightful dinner and a night stroll through the beautiful streets of Paris, taking in the city’s charm.
As we look ahead, we’ll continue to work on re-imagining and discovering the media, cultural and art sectors. Stay tuned to our developments.
