The TRANSMIXR consortium includes  22 organisations from 12 European countries holding advanced and complementary expertise and skillsets in European research, media and innovation programs, as well as in-depth knowledge of AI & XR and their application to the media sector. 

The partners represent a balanced mix of research/industrial players, including SMEs, who jointly cover the entire media ecosystem. This is crucial to tackle a large-scale project such as TRANSMIXR.

Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) is a multi-campus university spread across seven campuses throughout Ireland’s Midwest and Midlands region. With principal campuses at Limerick and Athlone, we benefit from an already strong and vibrant history of education and learning in the wider region, and will continue to play our part in sustaining and enhancing this identity for generations to come..

Universities & Research Centres

The Centre for Research and Technology Hellas was fοunded in March 2000, it is a legal entity governed by private law with non-profit status. CERTH’s main mission is the promotion of innovative research for the benefit of society. 

Established in 1997, the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts is the applied university of the six Central Swiss cantons Lucerne, Uri, Schwyz, Obwalden, Nidwalden and Zug. It is by a clear margin the largest educational institution in the region.

Trinity College Dublin is recognised internationally as Ireland’s premier university and is ranked joint 87st position in the world (QS World University Rankings (2024). In the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, Trinity is ranked 134th in the world.

Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI) is the national research institute for mathematics and computer science in the Netherlands.

Modul Technology is the New Media Research and Innovation spin-off company of Modul University Vienna. It involves University faculty and technology experts in nationally and internationally funded projects, working on innovative near-to-market data and knowledge-based solutions. 

The Vrije Universiteit Brussel is a Dutch- and English-speaking research university in Brussels, Belgium. It has four campuses: Brussels Humanities, Science and Engineering Campus, Brussels Health Campus, Brussels Technology Campus and Brussels Photonics Campus.

webLyzard is an Austrian SME founded in 2008, built on 20 years of leading R&D into semantic technologies for Web intelligence and visual analytics applications. A strong track record of research funding from national and European programs and a successful reference projects for international clients reflect webLyzard’s technology leadership and a consistent high rate of innovation.

Khora is an award-winning Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) production studio based in Copenhagen, creating cutting edge content within multiple application areas. We are 30+ full time employees, and over the last seven years we have produced more than 400 VR/AR applications and hosted more than 2000 workshops and events.

VRAI mission is to redefine exceptional human performance through better training, unlocking every individual’s full potential in order to help save lives. We believe human performance data is currently the untapped resource in training and have built our product – HEAT – to transform this resource into actionable insights.

Storypact is a deep-tech startup founded in January 2023. It focuses on generative AI and content optimization technologies to provide an interactive content production environment that helps authors create, expand, and continuously refine their work. 

Intel Corporation is an American multinational corporation and technology company. Intel designs, manufactures, and sells computer components such as CPUs and related products for business and consumer markets.

 

F6S is a leading global founder and startup network that helps public sector entities around the world to promote, communicate and disseminate technical and research projects. In addition to F6S’ work with governmental entities, we also work with corporates, investors, research institutions, programs, universities and others in the global startup ecosystem. 

Media Practitioners

Baltic Film & Creative Tech Cluster is a leading creative industries cluster based in Lithuania. Our ecosystem consists of more than 120 organisations operating in film, animation, VR, XR, gaming production pipelines along with universities and colleges as well as public bodies and NGO’s.

Radiotelevizija Slovenija – usually abbreviated to RTV Slovenija – is Slovenia’s national public broadcasting organization. Based in Ljubljana, it has regional broadcasting centres in Koper and Maribor and correspondents around Slovenia, Europe, and the world.

The Dutch Institute for Sound and Vision is an archive center and museum located in Hilversum. It collects, preserves, and provides access to most of the Dutch audiovisual collection.

The European Broadcasting Union is the world’s foremost alliance of public service media, representing over a hundred organisations worldwide. EBU’s mission is to secure a sustainable future for public service media, provide our Members with world-class content through the Eurovision and Euroradio brands, and build on our founding ethos of solidarity and co-operation to create a centre for learning and sharing.

Agence France-Presse is a French international news agency headquartered in Paris, France. Founded in 1835 as Havas, it is the world’s oldest news agency. With 2,400 employees of 100 nationalities, AFP has an editorial presence in 260 cities across 150 countries.

 

TG4 is an Irish free-to-air public service television channel. It launched on 31 October 1996 and is available online and through its on-demand service TG4 Player in Ireland and beyond. TG4 was initially known as Teilifís na Gaeilge, before being renamed in 1999.

Sparknews’ mission is to accelerate and achieve a cultural, strategic, and operational metamorphosis among key societal actors—namely media, culture, and businesses. The aim is to empower these entities to seamlessly integrate their models and practices within a framework that honors ecological limits and champions social equity, ultimately allowing them to harmonize commitment with sustainability.

Formed of artists, technologists, and visionaries, Satore is a multi-disciplinary creative-led studio with a clear mission: to craft emotionally powerful and ground-breaking moments that push the limits of creativity and technology. They achieve this by doing what they simply describe as ‘cool stuff’ that inspires people through the innovative use of Lighting, Art, Entertainment, and Technology.

Specific Roles of the TRANSMIXR Partners

  • TUS, CWI, MOD, TCD, CERTH, VUB and HSLU blend theoretical and applied AI and XR R&D expertise. Involvement is balanced across the core technical work packages: understanding, creation and consumption.
  • VUB is leading the efforts with respect to UCD and methodology for the large-scale user studies and pilots of TransMIXR. 
  • INTEL (infrastructure), VRAI (AI/XR), KHORA (production), IMM (XR) and WLT (visualisation & integration) bring complementary expertise to realise the TransMIXR vision.
  •  AFP, RTVSLO, SATORE, BCFT, NISV, SPARK ensures that the implemented framework is grounded on real industry needs. 
  • Finally, EBU will ensure that the requirements of the media ecosystem are correctly factored into the TransMIXR framework and disseminate project findings leveraging their Pan-European network.
