Prof. Pablo Cesar from the Distributed and Interactive Systems (DIS) group from CWI gave the talk “Towards volumetric video conferencing” at the International Summer School on eXtended Reality Technology and eXperience on 8-11 July 2024 in Madrid. The talk discussed the challenges and opportunities on Social XR, including an overview of the TRANSMIXR project, the team and its goals.
The International Summer School on eXtended Reality Technology and eXperience aims to provide both an objective and clear overview and an in-depth analysis of the state-of-the-art research in eXtended Reality. We have witnessed a revolution in theory and technology recently. The coming years will see a huge increase of applications as advanced devices and 5G communications become widespread. This summer school aims to provide a stimulating opportunity for young researchers and PhD students. The participants will benefit from direct interaction and discussions with leaders in eXtended Reality. Participants will also have the possibility to present the results of their research and to interact with their scientific peers, in a friendly and constructive environment.
