The IBC is the world’s leading broadcasting media and tech show and was held again this year at the RAI Amsterdam from September 12-15.

TRANSMIXR were delighted to be in the thick of the action showcasing our news and broadcast use cases on the EBU Tech & Innovation stand.

TRANSMIXR team also participated in the world’s first ever live news bulletin broadcast in VR from IBC and TG4 in Ireland! This was the climax of our News Broadcast use case development where a production team in Ireland produced a full news bulletin from the TG4 headquarters, using technology developed by Immersion, with support from TUS, CERTH, CWI, VRAI, TCD and other consortium partners. TG4 Director of Operations & HR, Trevor Ó Clochartaigh was interviewed live from IBC as part of the broadcast, which was viewed in VR by a select audience in Athlone in Ireland.

The TRANSMIXR team also picked up a trophy for winning last year’s IBC Accelerator competition for the ‘Evolution of the Control Room’ project, which Grace Dinan from TUS was lead on and partnered by team members from Google, BBC, Cuez & ITN, TV2 Danmark, Channel 4, nxtEdition, XReco and more. Grace’s technical paper on this project was featured at the convention. Leveraging AI to reduce technical expertise in media production and optimise workflows.
