Training Program

Training Program

The TRANSMIXR Training Programmes support professional adoption of project tools and workflows across media, cultural heritage, and creative sectors. Rather than offering a single unified course, the training approach is structured around sector-specific programmes aligned with each use case. These programmes combine onboarding materials, practical guidance, hands-on experimentation, and reusable resources, reflecting the different operational contexts and professional needs of each sector.

News Media

The News Media Training Programme supports journalists and newsroom professionals in adopting AI-driven tools for news monitoring, editing, and video summarisation. The programme combines onboarding sessions with practical user guides and short tutorial videos, enabling gradual integration of TRANSMIXR tools into everyday editorial workflows. Training materials focus on usability and newsroom relevance rather than technical complexity.

The training materials include onboarding videos for the news monitoring tool, a practical user guide for the StoryPact editor, and step-by-step tutorials for the video summarisation service, as well as practical shooting guidelines supporting the capture of visual material intended for volumetric processing. Together, these resources support self-guided learning and day-to-day newsroom use. The full set of training materials for this programme is available through the following main access points:

These training resources support journalists and newsroom professionals in adopting AI-driven tools for news monitoring, editing, and video summarisation. The materials include video tutorials for the news monitoring tool developed by webLyzard, a practical PDF user guide for the StoryPact news editor, and a set of three short tutorial videos for the video summarisation service developed by CERTH-ITI, as well as practical shooting guidelines for capturing visual material intended for volumetric processing. While the monitoring and editing tools benefit from an onboarding phase—typically delivered through short guided sessions to introduce key features and workflows—the video summarisation and capture guidelines are designed for immediate, self-guided use. Together, these resources illustrate a newsroom-oriented workflow that moves from story discovery and editorial development to video adaptation and content capture, supporting a gradual and practice-oriented introduction to immersive-ready formats without requiring prior XR production or technical expertise.
News Broadcast

The News Broadcast Training Programme addresses the operational needs of professional broadcast environments using the Spatial Media Virtual Studio. Training activities focus on hands-on familiarisation and system operation, supported by operator guides and task-specific video tutorials. Rather than functioning as a stand-alone course, the programme reinforces learning achieved through live testing and pilot deployments in real production settings.

The training materials include operator-focused documentation for system setup and studio control, along with short feature-based video tutorials covering key functions such as environment management, lighting, virtual cameras, volumetric capture, and spectator access. Together, these resources support technical onboarding, operational continuity, and potential reuse of the News Broadcast platform in professional broadcast contexts. The full set of training materials for this programme is available through the following main access points:

These training resources support broadcast professionals in understanding and operating the Spatial Media Virtual Studio within real production environments. The materials include operator-focused PDF guides covering system setup, XR controls, and studio workflows, alongside a set of short, task-specific video tutorials demonstrating key functions such as environment management, lighting, virtual cameras, volumetric capture, and spectator access. Rather than replacing hands-on production testing, the resources are designed to reinforce practical experimentation and technical onboarding, supporting operational continuity and potential reuse of the News Broadcast platform in professional broadcast settings.

Performing Arts

The Performing Arts Training Programme focuses on creative exploration of immersive storytelling through workshop-based methods and reusable facilitation tools. It supports artists, educators, and organisations in experimenting with XR and AI as part of performative practice, without requiring prior technical expertise. Training materials emphasise narrative development, embodiment, and collaborative creation.

The training materials include a workshop guide, a recorded workshop session, and a consolidated set of creative prompts and facilitation tools that can be reused in educational, artistic, or exploratory contexts. Together, these resources support both self-guided experimentation and facilitated group work, enabling practitioners to test immersive storytelling approaches in a practical and accessible way. The full set of training materials for this programme is available through the following main access points:

These training resources support performing arts professionals in exploring immersive storytelling through a workshop-based approach that combines symbolic thinking, embodied performance, XR, and AI. The materials include workshop documentation and a recording, together with a consolidated PDF of reusable creative prompts and facilitation tools developed during UC3 activities. Using tarot cards as a narrative entry point, the resources guide individual reflection, collective story-building, role-play, and scene visualisation, offering a practical and accessible way to experiment with immersive performance. They are suitable for artists, educators, and organisations seeking hands-on methods for creative exploration without requiring prior technical experience.

Cultural Heritage

The Cultural Heritage Training Programme supports heritage professionals in exploring, evaluating, and applying immersive technologies in institutional contexts. It combines self-guided resources, practical toolkits, and implementation-focused materials that enable informed decision-making around XR adoption. The programme is designed to be accessible to professionals at different stages of engagement with immersive technologies.

The training materials include practical guides and workbooks focused on meaningful XR use in cultural heritage, alongside technical and implementation-oriented resources supporting tools such as Curator Studio and immersive use case applications. Together, these resources support independent learning, internal capacity building, and informed experimentation with immersive formats. The full set of training materials for this programme is available through the following main access points:

These training resources are aimed at cultural heritage professionals who want to explore how immersive technologies (XR) can be used in real-world practice. They support teams from early experimentation through to implementation, helping them make informed decisions about what is feasible, meaningful, and sustainable within their institutional context. The collection includes two core publications focused on design and ideation beyond virtual museums, alongside practical documentation and video walkthroughs for immersive prototyping tools, supporting both self-guided learning and facilitated workshops.
